Highlights
• Promoting research and dissemination of knowledge initiatives in the field of practice and procedure assessment, including the expansion of the website DianaHealth (www.dianahealth. com) of Dissemination of Initiatives to Analyse Appropriateness in Healthcare –with 3.000 new recommendations about low value interventions in healthcare.
• Methodological support for the development of evidence-based recommendations on breast cancer and evaluation of the quality of existing evidence-based breast cancer guidelines commissioned by the European Commission.
• Active involvement in many international non-commercial clinical trials and studies in collaboration with other leading global research academic institutions –in which the group has acted as national coordinator and promoter in several of them, especially in the field of perioperative medicine–, several of which have obtained competitive public funding and have generated high-impact publications.
• Creation of the first GRADE center (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation - http://www.gradeworkinggroup.org/) in Spain: Barcelona GRADE Center.
• Continued involvement in collaborative workgroups and networks (Cochrane Collaboration, GRADE Working Group, Guiasalud, LatinCLEN, Guidelines International Network G-I-N), which implied attending several international meetings during 2016, such as the 13th International Conference G-I-N (Philadelphia), the annual meeting of the Iberoamerican Cochrane Network (Quito), or the 24rd Cochrane Colloquium (Seoul).
• Dr. Pablo Alonso Coello is on the list of the world’s most cited researchers of the year 2016 published by Clarivate Analytics, a former branch of the Thomson Reuters agency dedicated to intellectual property and science.
