Highlights
The research team is multidisciplinary composed of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, biologists and psychologists, all of them dedicated to epidemiology, public health and preventive medicine. They
have broad experience in several research areas: prevalent health problems, lifestyles during pregnancy, epidemiology of road crash injuries, environmental risk factors and health services.
The research team provides 98 scientific articles in the last 5 years, 18 of them in the year 2016. Overall, 10 out of the 18 articles published in the last year are placed in quartile 1, and 3 in decile 1. During this period 20 doctoral theses have been defended 3 of them during the academic year 2015-16.
At the moment, we are actively participating in Predimed Plus study in collaboration with groups from CIBEROBN and CIBERESP. Recruiting phase is already finished and we are still working in the intervention and follow-up of the participants; we hope it will reflect on significant bibliometric impact from 2017 onwards. Also, we continue collaborating actively in MCC-Spain study, now in data analysis phase and scientific articles redaction. This project is currently generating a significant number of collaborative publications in high impact journals (5 in 2016 in collaboration with our group; we hope this number increases in 2017).
During the year 2016 we have obtained funding for four projects that are currently active, three with public and one with private funding (ISCIII, DGT, Junta of Andalusia and University of Granada). In addition, one of the members of the group, Professor Jiménez-Moleón is Deputy Scientific Director Institute of Biosanitary Research of Granada. Another member, Professor Lardelli-Claret, is Director of research group CTS-137 (Andalusian Research Plan).
