Highlights
Cochrane Collaborating Center in Madrid (CCC- CAM) has been consolidated during 2015. The Clin- ical Biostatistics Unit of the Ramón y Cajal Hospital hosts the Cochrane Collaborating Center thanks to a collaboration agreement between the Ramón y Cajal Health Research Institute (IRYCIS) and the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid. The CCC- CAM pursues as its primary objective, to give pro- mote, support and provide methodological advice to researchers in Madrid Autonomous Region, who wish to participate in the activities of Cochrane. As a result, of these activities of the Cochrane Collabo- rating Center of the Community of Madrid we have promoted many titles and protocols as well as pub- lished several protocols and complete full reviews. This significant milestone for our group has meant boosting our capacity to perform translational activ- ities to bring scientific evidence into clinical practice.

The group has developed during 2015 an intense international collaboration with groups of clinical, epidemiological and methodological research in the field of maternal and child health. In addition, to the relevant scientific production derived, we have established research agreements to perform clini- cal studies aimed to assess the association of oral health with pregnancy health outcomes as well as studies to evaluate the effect of diet, lifestyle and consumption of probiotics during pregnancy.
Finally, resulting from this international collabora- tion, the group has been involved in the develop- ment of the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the use of cesarean section procedures.
