Training Programme
The activities of the CIBERESP training programme in 2015 focussed particularly on supporting re- searchers’ mobility and on promoting and further- ing quality work of postgraduate students in Public Health.
As regards mobility, this year four short stays abroad at international research centres of acknowledged prestige were financed to help CIBERESP doctor- ands to obtain their doctorate with an international mention and to promote international cooperation of CIBERESP. As a novelty, in 2015 the introduction of a new call for intramural mobility was approved, intended to promote cooperation between groups already working in the CIBERESP, which will be opened in the first quarter of 2016.
Another of the activities in the programme is the excellence Encounter in Public Health in the frame- work of the Minorca Public Health Summer School.
In the 2015 (ninth) edition, 10 young scientists in Public Health training with grants from the CIBERESP presented and discussed their projects for Doctoral Theses in an informal setting with senior scientists, who were George Delclos and Carlos Álvarez-Dardet at this edition, as well as the coordinator of the Training Programme, Beatriz Pérez-Gómez. The feedback received after the encounter vouched for its excellent evaluation by those attending, as well as proposals for improvement, which will be brought into the edition for 2016.
CIBERESP has also again financed the ten awards for the best papers presented by young research staff at the SEE Scientific Meeting or the SESPAS/ SEE Latin-American Congress on Epidemiology and Public Health. In its present format, this award in- cludes a diploma and the cost of enrolment for the following year’s meeting.
