• Epidemiology and ecology of bacterial antibiot- ic resistance, in relation with antibiotic use, risk groups, and environmental changes.
• Research on mechanisms and dynamics of col- onization and transmission of microorganisms among humans, and from animals to humans.
• Research on epidemiology of transmissible dis- eases, particularly HIV, HCV, LGV, respiratory and neurotropic viruses.
• Epidemiology of non-B HIV-1 subtypes in immi- grant and pediatric populations.
