• Modelling and new methods for monitoring the HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
• Evaluation of preventive interventions for HIV and STI and prevention and control measures.
• Implementation studies and operational research in the early diagnosis of HIV.
• Biological, behavioural and structural determi- nants in the acquisition and spread of communi- cable diseases in migrant population.
• Global Health. Design of Multilevel preventive interventions and monitoring of social networks and metrics applied to the study of HIV and STIs epidemics.
• Development and validation of new molecular techniques for STIs diagnosis, including Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).
• Study of molecular epidemiology of HCV, and im- plications of its genetic variability for treatment resistance and progression of hepatic fibrosis.
