Highlights
As results of the research project on measles, mumps and rubella viruses, included on the MMR vaccine, it has been published 4 scientific articles and there are other 9 in preparation. Also it has been published an article about the research on bats vi- ruses and rabies virus, financed by a MINNECO pro- ject. We have participated in several national (3) and international conferences (4) to present the results of the projects.
As an active part in the Measles and Rubella Elimi- nation Plan, as the microbiological surveillance, we have participated on the elaboration of the 2014 an- nual report for the WHO and at the annual meeting of the Verification Committee, which took place in June 2015 at the Ministerio de Sanidad, Asuntos Sociales e Igualdad. We also participated in the meeting: “Mission WHO. Elimination of measles and rubella “, on June 17, 2015.
We have been granted for a research project entitled “Epidemiological and virological analysis of the viral agents included on the MMR vaccine: New Chal- lenges” by the “Acción Estratégica en Salud Intra- mural 2015, ISCIII”, to continue the research on this line. In this project there are involved members of the research team of our CIBERESP group , and also components of other CIBERESP groups as well as the “Laboratorio Regional de Salud de la Comunidad de Madrid”, the “Servicio de Epidemiología de la Con- sejería de Sanidad de la Comunidad de Madrid”, 27 primary care pediatricians and 1 pediatrician from a hospital of the “Comunidad de Madrid”.
We participated on the workshop of emerging dis- eases in November 2015, in Barcelona, organized by the P2 program.
