Main lines of research
• Occupational Health Problems
In addition to work-related illnesses and workplace injuries, we are also interested in studying sickness absence, whether temporary or permanent, especially due to musculoskeletal and mental disorders, and the prognosis (duration) to return to work.
• Occupational Safety and Health Policies
The development of policies and programs in Occupational Safety and Health needs to be assessed systematically. The CiSAL is contributing to assess the quality of such policies and to evaluate their effectiveness.
• Occupational Health information systems
The targets of the CiSAL are to have better information, of higher quality and organized so that it can be used appropriately. Whom develop projects of methodological character to improve the utility of the Work and Health Conditions Surveys, as well as the creation of a useful employment-exposition matrix for the investigation of new risks and the labour risk prevention management.
• Occupational Health inequalities
The existence of the highest rates of temporary employment in the European Union, as an indicator of
