Highlights
Our group is located within the University of Valencia and our members are also present in the University and Polytechnic La Fe Hospital, General University Hospital and Clinical University Hospital of Valencia. We currently participate in the following projects as principal researcher; “Environmental Strategy and Economic Sustainability Tools Applied to The Fluvial-Coastal Landscapes: Risks, Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services (Eco2TOOLS)”, “Evaluation of Emerging Contaminants in The Turia Basin: From Basic Research to The Application of Environmental Forensics” (CGL2011-29703-C02-02) and “Identification of Communication Barriers Between Health Personnel and Patients Attending Malaria Care Services in Colombia” (Projects for Development Cooperation, University of Valencia, 2014/15). The group collaborates with other CIBER groups: “Effectiveness of 23-Valent Polysaccharide and Anti-Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccination in Persons Aged 65 And Over” (PI12 / 02079); “Study of Adequacy of Intermittent Hormone Therapy in Patients with Prostate Cancer” (PI15 / 00886) and in the “Dynamic Cohort of University Students for the Study of Drug Use and Other Addictions” (National Drug Plan 2013-2016). We are currently working on a study on breast cancer and diet in collaboration with the Valencian Institute of Oncology that would lead to an improved patient recovery. We are also working with the Gynecology Service of the University and Polytechnic La Fe Hospital with the project “Study on the Lifestyle and Health of the Newborn”. Our group leads the ANIVA study, on lifestyles in children of the province of Valencia and collaborates with the Public Health Laboratory of the Valencian Community within the framework of FISABIO. 7 doctoral theses have been defended; one of them with an Extraordinary Doctorate in Medicine Award.
